Permanent Jewellery Training York, North Yorkshire, UK
Learn how to offer permanent jewellery in your own business
If you’re interested in permanent jewellery training in the UK and want to learn in a practical, hands-on environment, this in-person training day is designed to help you gain the confidence to start offering permanent jewellery in your own business.
I am a jewellery maker with over nine years of experience and more than 10,000 sales on Etsy and my own website. In 2025, I proudly opened the first permanent jewellery studio in the centre of York, which I still run today. Everything I teach is based on my actual day-to-day business practice.
Permanent jewellery is an unregulated industry here in the UK and there are currently no formally accredited courses available, however I have recently completed my jewellery diploma with the Jewellers Academy and am registered with the Guild of Jewellery Designers and the Sheffield Assay Office, so you can feel confident you’re learning from a trained and experienced jewellery maker with a strong focus on quality and safe practice.
This is a face-to-face permanent jewellery course where you’ll learn how to weld permanent jewellery safely, confidently, and to a professional standard.
The training sessions are held at Green Hammerton Village Hall, which is conveniently situated between York and Harrogate along the A59. It is just 3 miles from the A1 motorway and offers ample free parking. This location is easily accessible for anyone travelling from across Yorkshire or other parts of the UK.

Troubleshooting and real industry knowledge
One of the most important parts of learning permanent jewellery is understanding what can go wrong.
Alongside running my permanent jewellery business, I also run a monthly repair service where I fix permanent jewellery that hasn’t been done correctly. I’ve seen first-hand the most common mistakes in the industry.
We’ll go through:
- why welds fail
- common permanent jewellery problems
- how to avoid weak or messy welds
- how to fix issues when they happen
- design consideration to prevent future problems
This part of the training will help you avoid mistakes and offer a much more professional service from the start.

You’ll leave with both the knowledge and materials to keep practising.
